Farooq Abdullah is more loyal than King – Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad, 31 Aug, 2010: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League while condemning Farooq Abdulla’s aspersions on the current mode of the Kashmir’s struggle for freedom has said that only a stone-hearted man can be blind to so much innocent blood in the streets of Kashmir. He said that as a minister in the Indian cabinet the ex Chief Minister wanted to please both the rulers of Delhi and BJP and, was ‘more loyal than King.’ Rejecting his obsolete claim about the accession with India, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that it was a fabricated story of the past, besides not being in tone with the ground realities of Kashmir, adding that the claim of accession was devoid of moral and political basis. “It is only a forced military occupation”, he said. He asked Farooq Abdullah to recollect his slogan of Azadi when he had raised it in Muzaffarabad and Mirpur in 1960s before the death of Pt. Nehru. If the slogan was right then, why it could be orchestrated today, he questioned. He said that by and large the world was acknowledging the home-grown character of the present mass struggle of the Kashmiris and hearts and minds supported it on the basis of intuition and inspiration from the All Merciful and Gracious Allah-the Creator of the Universe.

India deserves international pressure on referendum in Kashmir – Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad, 28 Aug, 2010: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League has warned that although India was bound under its own international word to grant the right of self determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, but it now spurned the clarion call to redeem the pledge of a free, fair and impartial plebiscite in the former princely state of British India. He said that India had become a law unto itself, and therefore deserved international pressure to concede the popular demand for the independence of Kashmir. He hoped that after granting the right of self determination to the Kashmiris, the region would enjoy peace and security and bitter enemies could become peaceful neighbors in the turbulent region. In case India failed to read writings on the wall, responsibility would lie on the Indian Government, leaving Kashmiris no option except to continue the present mass struggle more resolutely and vigorously. He urged the Security Council members, who adopted historical resolutions on Kashmir between 1948 and 1965 to revive their activities on Kashmir and bring India and Pakistan closer to a durable solution in line with UNCIP resolutions and urges and aspirations of the Kashmiris. He said that India should remember that the blood of oppressed people in the world produced miracles, so the valiant sons and daughters of Kashmir would get the reward of their sacrifices very soon.

Condemning the latest spree of killings and arrests of common people mostly youngsters he said the unbridled powers under the AFSPA and PSA had made army and police brutal and they were paying deaf ear to  any call of restraint by the humanity—causing daily killings in all rural and urban areas of Kashmir.  He said that before it became too late, the international community should loose no time to address the current situation of Kashmir by resolving the issue in accordance with the principle of the right of self determination to save the region from the scourge of war.

India’s cynicism and ferocity will not bend Kashmiris – Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad, 25 Aug, 2010: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League has castigated Indian police, paratroopers and special police force of the Omar Abdullah regime for torturing one of the pro-freedom police men—Abdul Ahad Jan in their custody resulting in his kidney damage, now struggling for life in the SMHS Hospital Srinagar. He cautioned that the meeting with the revolutionary police man by Omar Abdullah last week was merely to camouflage the brutal treatment by regime’s Special troopers with that brave service man during his interrogation.

He further said that executing ferocious methods of crack-down through out Kashmir, to round-up maximum number of people to detention camps and torture centers, and using bullets, smoke-guns, tear gas shells and stones indiscriminately, to kill young men or deprive them of their eyesight was a great crime of unforgivable nature. He said curfew, crack-down, murder and humiliation of women had become hall-mark of the Omar regime to protect India’s forcible occupation of Jammu and Kashmir. He warned that Indian regime’s days had numbered in Kashmir due to its own hypocrisy and ferocity and moreover the rulers in Delhi were showing obliviousness to the political atmosphere in the wounded land of the Kashmiris. “India’s battle for survival in Kashmir is like a dying wolf, it’s doomed owing to its ethical and popular incapacity to acknowledge the reality, hence better to quit earlier than before, “he remarked. He also condemned fresh killings of innocent youth in Pattan and other cities of the valley— raising the death-toll to 63 in the state.

Every cloud with a silver lining

Jammu Students arrest condemned – Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad, 20 Aug, 2010: Condemning brutal killings under joint military, paramilitary, and police operations in Kulgam, Srinagar, Bandipora and rest of the State and depriving people of a conducive atmosphere to offer Nimaz across the valley especially in the Hazratbal mosque and advocating imposition of AFSPA by Omar Abdullah, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that despite all fearful odds every cloud has a silver lining, the voice of Muslims has blessings of The Almighty Allah, as it is the precious blood of innocent sons of the soil, that is being shed by the unruly Police and paratroopers of the Indian regime in Jammu and Kashmir. He said the spark of freedom was kindling from heart to heart and souls couldn’t be conquered by military guns. It has moved non Muslims and was making inroads in police and civil service Depts. as well; the proof being the first shot kicked off by a brave and conscientious police man of the J&K Police Dept. by resigning from his police service. Others should follow the suit, he urged. Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that Kashmir was in the lap of a great mental revolution which would be in the fitness of things and ultimately lead to a peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute harmonizing relations in the South Asia. “Yet it is a tip of the ice berg, and its unique and homegrown style should not be cramped in the broader national interests” he maintained.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani strongly condemned victimization policy of the coalition Indian regime in the Jammu University, where at the behest of rabid communal and militant elements of the institution last week over 14 Muslim students were arrested and implicated in criminal cases for voicing their sentiments against unabated killings in the Kashmir province of the State. He demanded their immediate release and warned against their prosecution under any terrorist law.

Condemn killings and implement 13 Aug 1948/5 Jan 1949 resolutions – Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad, 16 Aug, 2010:  Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League has said hardly within a week after the peace rhetoric of Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to the people of Kashmir, India’s paratroopers gunned down at least eight young and old Kashmiris in Threhgam and other parts of Kashmir, raising the toll of innocent civilian deaths since 11 June to at least 60 young and old men. He lauded the role of young Kashmiris for demonstrating their exemplary determination again on 15 August by making the day a complete failure in Jammu and Kashmir.

While condemning in strongest words Indian force’s continuous brutal killings in Kashmir, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that every act exposed Indian Prime minister’s claim of sincerity and capability to make peace with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. In fact Practical experience always belied Indian PM’s words. He said that Indian regime in Kashmir would be remembered as the worst ever in Kashmir’s history. He regretted that while there was going on a naked dance of death in Kashmir the world powers looked mum. He urged the UN Secretary General Banki Moon to take cognizance of civilian killings by Indian forces in Kashmir under the relevant Security Council resolutions and international humanitarian law to restrain Indian forces from perpetuating genocide in Jammu and Kashmir.

Reminding the world body of its commitments regarding the right of self-determination, he said that if this principle was good for East Timor or Kosovo or any other nation why not for the Kashmiris. Emphasizing the need for peace and justice he said that the UN should compel India to repeal all black laws in Kashmir, withdraw its troops from the state and give the people of Kashmir an opportunity to decide their future peacefully through a UN sponsored plebiscite as envisaged in the UNCIP resolutions of 13 Aug 1948 and 5 Jan 1949.

Press Release

Martyrs of Kashmir paid tribute by Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad, 11 Aug, 2010: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League while paying glowing tributes to Sheikh Abdul Aziz who was martyred by troops in 2008 had said that the current mass upsurge in Jammu and Kashmir has revived more peacefully and vigorously the spirit of the past intifada and it is certainly an epitome of every past effort for the freedom of Kashmir. He eulogized the great sacrifices of sons of Kashmir who laid down their lives to uphold the glory of Kashmir including those 51 martyrs who were murdered by the brutal regime’s forces during the last 6 weeks. He said that the nation would never forget teenage patriots and noble sons like Fida Nabi and Syed Farrukh Bukhari who were martyred brutally by the Indian forces in the last few days in Qamarwari Srinagar and Kreeri Baramulla. He further condemned India’s new repressive policy under which troops would be issued latest guns and devices to kill the people on spot. Under the prevailing shoot-at-sight policy of the Indian regime, Prime Minister’s message from Delhi to Kashmiris was nothing but mockery of peace and non-violence. It is not the job seeking agitation in Kashmir as claimed by India’s Prime Minister. Can teenagers die for jobs, he asked.
