Dr Iqbal’s teachings inspire oppressed Kashmiris: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

Allama IqbalIslamabad April 20: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League has paid glowing tributes to the Poet Philosopher of the East Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal on his 73rd anniversary. He said that Dr Alama Iqbal was a Kashmiri by birth and always remained devoted to the freedom of Jammu and Kashmir. At one time he also headed the Kashmir Committee of Lahore in 1930’s to promote the cause of Kashmiri struggle for freedom. Dr Iqbal in his poetry highlighted the enthusiasm and intelligence of Kashmiris for their freedom and hoped that ultimately the world would have to recognize the cause of Kashmir.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that to achieve the goal of freedom and frustrate colonialist attitude of India towards the struggle of Kashmiris we must follow the teachings of the great philosopher of East whose poetry and even prose is filled with great ideas of human dignity and freedom of man from man’s slavery.
