Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League (PFL) demonstration stopped from presenting Memo to UN office Srinagar

Srinagar 18 July 2012(PR): A strong demonstration under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League, led by party’s General Secretary Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, to protest against the persecution, harassment, humiliation, arrest ,detention and desecration of worshiping places and sacred relics, urged, Indian government to stop its campaign of terror and torture, against the people, and asked the United Nations to fulfill its responsibilities in line with its charter and UNCIP resolutions, to resolve the long standing conflict of South Asia.

JKPFL Leaders Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, Gh Ahmed Haji and others being arrested by Indian Police on their peaceful march towards UN office Srinagar. 18-July-12

The protesters raised slogans against highhandedness of police, which stopped them from marching towards UNMOGIP office to present a memorandum with the UN officials.
They were arrested along with M Rafiq Ghanai and Haji Gh Ahmad, leaders of the JKPFL in Srinagar before they could reach the UN office. The march was started from Lal Chowk today.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League has strongly condemned the incident, as undemocratic and inhuman.
