UN Human Rights delegation be deputed to Kashmir-Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad: The Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has called upon the UN to depute a high level delegation of human rights experts comprising Head of the UNHRC, and Chief Rapporteur on enforced or involuntary disappearances, custodial or extra-judicial killings and other rights violations to Jammu and Kashmir to address the sensitivity of unmarked graves, detentions, and restrictions on fundamental rights of the people. He said the step would be important from two counts: India could be prevented from inflicting brutalities on the people, and would be accountable for its unbridled terrorism, which would bring public respect to the world forum. Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and India should underscore Kashmir-Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad, 07 September, 2012. The Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has urged Pakistan and India to take stock of the unrest in Kashmir caused by draconian laws, tyranny, and threats to the demographic and cultural character of the State. He said India had deprived the people of their basic human rights and democratic rights, in order to crush the 65 year old demand for plebiscite under the united nation’s auspices. The plebiscite as promised by then leadership of India and recognized by the UNCIP in 1949, was delayed and sabotaged by India herself; jeopardizing peace in the region and forcing the inhabitants of Kashmir to articulate their grievances against it. The regime resorted to brute force and suppression of civil liberties. Since then there was anger and turmoil in the peaceful society, and Indian army and police were fomenting the trouble by their continued presence and repressive measures. Pakistan-India bilateral steps no substitute for Right of Self-determination-Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

Srinagar 06 September 2012(PR): An unusual meeting of The Jammu and Kashmir People Freedom League was today held here, to discuss the current political situation besides organizational matters. The Chairman of the organization Muhammad Farooq Rehmani addressed the meeting telephonically from Islamabad.
Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, General Secretary, Muhammad Altaf Khan, Chief Organiser, Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah, Haji Ghulam Ahmad, Arshad Aziz and other members attended the session of the People’s Freedom League. While reviewing the Current regional and international situation and its bearing on the Kashmir Conflict, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that nothing could be a substitute to the right of self-determination, without which no Pakistan-India agreement could guarantee peace and reconciliation in Jammu and Kashmir.
