Interior Ministry’s statement on Kashmir be deleted – Muhammad Farooq Rehmani
Islamabad November 3, 2012: The Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League has expressed grave concern over a statement of the Interior Ministry on Kashmir before the Supreme Court of Pakistan, which negates the historical nature, ongoing struggle and the sacrifices of the Kashmiris, and the common stand of the Kashmiris, Pakistan and The Organisation of the Islamic Conference(OIC).
He said that the controversial paragraph should be deleted from the original statement of the Interior Ministry before the Supreme Court and the Interior Minister A. Rahman Malik should investigate into and take note of the statement to remove all doubts in this regard. Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said, “Kashmir is an international conflict and the UNCIP resolutions bind India and Pakistan to hold plebiscite in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, to ascertain the wishes of its inhabitants in the matter of their destiny.
It is utterly wrong to term the elections of Kashmir in the past fair; they were every time rigged and the India Government always played foul to hoodwink the world opinion by the so called elections to the so-called JK legislature to continue its illegal and forcible occupation of the disputed region.
