Life imprisonment India’s new strategy in IHK: Rehmani
Islamabad, December 04 (KMS): The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani while denouncing the awarding of life imprisonment to two Kashmiri youth by a TADA court in Jammu reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the freedom struggle against all odds.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad said that India had invented new tactics including award of life imprisonment through its judiciary after failing to break the Kashmiris’ will for freedom despite employing every method of oppression and suppression against them.
He said that the life imprisonment to Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, Ghulam Qadir Butt, Muhammad Sahfi Shariati and now another two Kashmiri youth, Nazir Ahmad Sheikh and Showkat Ahmad Khan in fake cases was part of India’s new strategy.
Farooq Rehmani said that India was setting new examples of political vendetta by awarding life imprisonment to the freedom activists in the territory. He called upon the world community including the United Nations to take notice of the worst human rights violations perpetrated by Indian troops and police personnel in occupied Kashmir.
