Rehmani demands return of Guru’s body, release of Geelani and dropping of police bill
Islamabad, Feb 27,2013: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has said despite some honest efforts by the well-wishers of peace and humanity, to bring amity and peace to the sub-continent of India and Pakistan, all such efforts are ending in futility as India is dragging the region to an unimaginable condition of war and destruction, evident from state-terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and from its covert plans of terrorism against Pakistan from inside Afghanistan; confirmed further by US President Obama’s nominee for US Secretary of defence, Senator Chuck Hagel.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said not only Muhammad Afzal Guru an innocent Kashmir was sent to gallows by India in the name of satisfying country’s so called collective conscience but there were other political detenus languishing in jails for years till death; thus the rope of death was being tightened around their necks but in a different and unnoticed sense. He said yet not satisfied with its revenging laws against the Kashmiris the secular republican regime was going to incorporate all the harsh clauses of the AFSPA in the newly proposed Police Bill, an another trap to silence the mouths against the infamous J&K Armed Forces Special Powers Act. But rulers and puppets can’t fool the 21st century youths of Kashmir, who read well intentions and designs on their faces.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said the time was ticking on Indian occupational rule in Kashmir. He demanded Guru’s body back to be handed over for reburial to his family. He said the newly drafted Police Bill synonymous to AFSPA be abandoned and all other draconian laws be abolished from the statute Book.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani expressed grave concern over the deteriorating health of Syed Ali Geelani, Chairman All Parties Hurriyet Conference(G), and over his illegal and unjust confinement in Delhi, for his long convictions and beliefs; urging India to lift all restrictions on the ailing leaders liberties in Delhi. Besides, he added that the leaders languishing in jails for the last one or two decades be released. He said peace and peaceful resolution of Kashmir was of paramount importance for the turbulent region of South Asia; and to that end the concerned Governments and true leadership of Kashmir should put heads together to iron out their differences to resolve the long drawn Kashmir issue on permanent basis in line with the wishes of the peoples of Jammu and Kashmir State.
