JKPFL pays rich tributes to prominent commander, Yousuf Zangi on his 16th anniversary
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL) has paid glowing tributes to the noted liberation commander, Mohammad Yousuf Chopan alias Nooruddin Zangi on his 16th martyrdom anniversary and reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to take the ongoing liberation movement to its logical conclusion. A prayers session was conducted at the grave of Mohammad Yousuf Chopan under the auspices of JKFPL which was participated among others by party leaders and activists including General Secretary, Muhammad Ramzan Khan, Imtiaz Ahmad Shah, Abdul Ahad Chopan, Arshad Aziz, Arshad Ahmad Butt, Gulzar Ahmad Khanday, Ghulam Nabi Khanday, Mohammad Yousuf and Zubair Ahmad.
On the occasion, the speakers said that the contribution of Mohammad Yousuf Chopan for the Kashmir liberation movement would always be remembered.
Mohammad Ramzan Khan in his address said that Yousuf Chopan was among the frontline Mujahid Commanders who was martyred by Indian troops in 2000.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman JKPFL, has also paid rich tributes to martyred commander Yousuf Zangi on his anniversary and said that he was torched to death on 23 January, 2000 in Bandipora after arresting him. He said that his role in history of freedom struggle will be written in golden words.
They also paid homage to the victims of Gaw Kadal, Handwara and Kupwara massacres, saying that the killings and harassment could not suppress the Kashmiris’ freedom sentiment.
