Bandipora made garrison town ─ Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad Jul 28,2012: The Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has expressed grave concern over the provocative, aggressive and repressive measures of the army, and paratroopers in the district headquarter of Bandipora, looking not a scenic Wullar-lake city; but of a garrison town, in which thousands of highly equipped Indian army soldiers of the Rashtrayah Rifles (RR) ,the CRPF and police have been garrisoned following the custodial murder of Hilal Ahmad Dar, a local youth by the dreaded R.R. While condemning tyranny and mal treatment of the troops and police with the general public during the last four days, he asked whether such harsh measures would bring real and durable peace in the region.
He said under the given conditions the so called trade and travel CBMs have become futile and redundant, and the rhetoric of talks between the two Governments looks a show of peace.”
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani reminded the OIC Contact Group on Kashmir on their chartered responsibilities, and the UN of their mandatory role as the guarantor and protector of basic human rights and civil and political liberties, calling on them to intervene, as they do in such other situations of historical and humanitarian nature. “Since the forces of repression and occupation are working hand in glove, it becomes obligatory on UN and the OIC to initiate preventive measures for the safety of the kashmiris, lest it may become too late to stop cleansing of the kashmiris in their own State, as India’s so called secular leadership with the help of extremist elements is moving towards that direction’, he added.
At the same time, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani urged the Government of Pakistan to shoulder its political, diplomatic, and moral responsibilities; don’t keep mum on the India’s repression and denial of freedom to the people of the highly neglected conflict- zone of the world. He warned that by being silent on frequent military measures and developments; and intransigence of India in the matter of Kashmir, no one should expect that India’s proxy war along Durand Line will end.
He as well asked the Muslim Governments across the globe to discuss not only the problems of their own destabilizing waves, but sit together and focus upon– take remedial measures against the Muslim genocide moves in India, Palestine, Arakan Under Myanmer, India including Assam, Jammu and Kashmir and other parts and tirade against Islam. The stability of OIC lies in Islamic – solidarity and Islam, not in the continuation of decaying regimes, or borrowed power. Its intrinsic worth will ensure good and honourable relations with other nations of the world, he observed.

Bandipora brutality is part of systematic Killings─Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad 26 July 2012: The Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has strongly condemned a cold-blooded murder of an innocent inhabitant in Aloosa- Bandipora, Kashmir Hilal Ahmad Dar, after the latter’s Taraveeh prayers, sending waves of shock and anger through-out Kashmir valley.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said, “gunning down of innocent citizens in Kashmir has become second nature of India’s occupation forces, as there is no accountability and trial system, no retribution concept in the regime; and that India believes in the power of occupation, presence of army and continuation of draconian laws in the turbulent region; the responsible international bodies like the UN, have for long been apathetic to the plight and the rights of the Kashmiris under the Indian occupation rule. Therefore, India is encouraged to perpetuate its tyrannical rule with impunity and its forces have benefits of corruption and bribery in Jammu and Kashmir.”

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that whatever was happening in the occupied region were only terror, torture, and moral cowardice and bankruptcy of that regime; the pro-India parties were issuing sermons of so called human values and good governance, while actually they were mum at the police brutalities and torture against the citizens. They were not feeling ashamed of their cowardice; not coming to the support of the victimized and targeted people, groaning under the draconian laws of India for long.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani emphasized the proactive and duty-bound role of the UN, OIC, and world human rights organization’s and warned that since India’s designs were very dreadful following her free hand in Afghanistan; anything may happen and frequent acts of state-terrorism could be a prelude to even more ugly developments in this volatile region. He said although the Kashmiris were feeling like orphans in the present regional- behavioral and political developments; they couldn’t be made kneeling-cartoons.

Arrest of Rafiq Ganai and Yasmeen Raja Condemned
Condemnation over Continuous Curfew in Bandipora
Islamabad 31 Oct 2010: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League has strongly condemned once again arrest of Party General Secretary Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, in South Kashmir Islamabad Dist. At the same time police are harassing other workers and sympathizers of the People’s Freedom League.
He also condemned the detention of Yasmeen Raja Chief of Khawateen Markaz in Srinagar. He said that as the day of Barack Obama’s visit to India was approaching, Police terrorism was being intensified against youth in Kashmir which meant that the Govt. of India wanted to prevent any protest strike in Jammu and Kashmir and label the freedom struggle as terrorism.
However, the people of Jammu and Kashmir would emphasize on the United States President that the Kashmiris were fighting only for the right of self-determination as promised to them by India, Pakistan, and the world body.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that support by Indian writers like Arundhati Roy and Gautam Navlakha was encouraging and proved that the struggle had no communal or terroristic touch but the issue had its own history based upon reality, never contradicted by the United Nations organization.
Meanwhile Muhammad Farooq Rehmani strongly condemned the continuous curfew imposition by Umer Abdullah govt in Bandipora town, and in Palhalan Pattan.
