The Senior most Commander of Jammu and Kashmir Al-Fatah Force Bashir Ahmed Sheikh, nom de guerre Gazi, martyred on 13th February 2002, was born at Kaloosa Bandipora in a peasant family. This hamlet has produced some of well known martyred commanders like:Abdul Khaliq Ganai(Jemal Afghani) and Nazir Ahmed Shah. Shaheed Abdul Majeed Khan also belonged to the same town.
Shaheed Bashir Ahmed Sheikh starled his political activities as pro-freedom activist in 1970s under the inspirations of Muhammad Farooq Rehman, who was then Chairman of the People’s League and today Chairman J&K People’s Freedom League. In 1988 Gazi Bashir Ahmad Sheikh joined the armed resistance for freedom of the State. He was imprisoned several times by Police and became famous in Kashmir North. In1989, he was arrested and detained in Sangrore Jail of India. He spent some years in Rajasthan jail also. Bashir Ahmed Sheikh was released in 1992, and became Chief Commander of the former Jihad Force. But, again arrested in 1994 at Barzulla Srinagar. Read more…
Srinagar, October 12, 2015: Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League[JKPFL], here held a protest demonstration today in Lal Chowk, Srinagar against torching of a Kashmir-bound truck at Udhampore in which three Kashmiri truckers sustained serious burn injuries who are now battling for life in Delhi hospital, to draw the attention of the world towards stepped up Hindu terrorism in Jammu.
The demonstration was led by JKPFL, General Secretary Muhammad Ramzan Khan and others. Protesters raised slogans against India and demanded protection of Kashmiri traders in Jammu and Delhi. In the meantime Indian police came in and arrested JKPFL General Secretary Muhammad Ramzan Khan, Imtiyaz Ahmed Shah, Arshad Aziz, Shoukat Ahmed Bhat, and others and lodged them in Kothi Bagh Police Station in Srinagar and didn’t allow to carry forward the demonstration. .:.Srinagar 3 Nov, 2012: The Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani according to an advice of the Central Council of People’s Freedom League, has changed office bearers at the center and thus Haji Ghulam Ahmad Paray has replaced Muhammad Rafiq Ganai as the General Secretary of the organization.
The new General Secretary Haji Ghulam Ahmad Paray has taken over charge of his new post in the People’s Freedom League. The names of other post holders will be announced later.-Press Release
Islamabad, 15 Jun, 2012: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League has paid glowing tributes to Nazir Ahmad Shah a leading freedom fighter and Commander J&K Jihad Force who championed the cause of freedom from his student life in 1970s to 15 June 1994, when he was arrested by special task force of Police(STF) only to be murdered brutally in custody the same day. He was a very popular young freedom fighter and political leader, who had challenged Sheikh Abdullah in a Public gathering in Bandipora in 1975 by asking questions on the internal autonomy, when the latter was leading a valley wide campaign of accord with the then Indian Prime minister Indra Gandhi.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that his contribution to Kashmir Kashmir cause is un-forgettable. He further said that the martyred leader remained dedicated to his mission till the day of his martyrdom. Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said the mission of Kashmir’s freedom will continue till its logical end.
Today on the occasion of the 18th anniversary of Shaheed Nazir Ahmad Shah, people offered Fateh at his grave in Bandipora. J&K People’s Freedom League at its office in Srinagar held a special meeting to commemorate martyrdom anniversary of Nazir Ahmad Shah, throwing light on his political life and sacrifices for the cause of Kashmir.
