PFL seeks intervention of HR groups

Srinagar 24 Aug 2012: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Freedom League secretary general Muhammad Rafiq Ganai has strongly condemned house arrest of pro-freedom leaders on Eid-ul-Fitr.
Addressing a Friday prayer meeting at Jamia Masjid Rawalpora here, Ganai said “preventing the pro-freedom leaders from offering Eid prayers was the interference in the religious affairs of people.”
Meanwhile, another League senior leader Haji Ghulam Ahmad Parray also addressed a Friday prayer meeting at Jamia Masjid Mirpora, Pahalgam, in south Kashmir.
Expressing serious concern over the alleged human rights violations, the League leader appealed to the international human rights organizations to exert pressure on New Delhi to put an immediate halt to these ‘violations’.-GK

Islamabad, 03 Jul, 2011(PR): The Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League has strongly condemned India and state authorities for paying deaf ear to fresh killings of youth in Tral, Sopore, etc and 18 young men in June, 2011 in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir, adding that the land of the Kashmiris has been turned into a level killing field by the occupation forces, who wield their authority, under the J&K Public Safety Act and The Armed Forces Special Powers Act. “Passers-by, way farers and passengers, all alike face threats, humiliations and searches by the army and paratroopers,” he remarked. Islamabad 05,May-2011:The Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League has said that the army, police and their agencies have cultivated deep vested interests in fomenting trouble in Jammu and Kashmir; perpetuating killings, and arrests of the Kashmiris for money and rank; without which they can’t fill their pockets with illegal money. For every release of a person from jail they collect money and after some time the unlucky man is rearrested for his uncommitted sins.
